Puerto Varas

Puerto Varas, founded by German colonists,  is situated on the south shore of beautiful Lago Llanquihue, Chile’s largest lake, 625 miles south of Santiago and 12 miles north of Puerto Montt, the capital of the 10th Region. Hosteria Outsider offers a direct Airport Transfer Service from/to International Airport El Tepual (Puerto Montt).

Puerto Varas is also the starting point for South America's most traditional excursion; the magnificent bus-boat combination to San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina,  for excursions to Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park and to Alerce Andino National Park and for one of southern Chile's most challenging climbs, Volcán Osorno.
